Dual diagnosis is being used to describe the co-occurrence of mental illness and substance-abuse problem of an individual. A wide range of psychosocial issues and numerous relating illnesses can be experienced by an individual who has dual diagnosis.A person’s physical, psychological, social and spiritual aspects are all affected when one faces dual diagnosis. It must be taken into story that an individual who has dual diagnosis doesn’t have two separate illnesses. There is an interaction of these two illnesses. There is a big tendency for the illnesses to intensify and every disorder is inclined to relapse to the other one. One of the problems of dual diagnosis is the overlapping and the masking of the symptom’s illnesses because it proves difficult for treatment.

The Importance of Alcoholics Anonymous

AA or Alcoholics Anonymous is a kind of organization created by the people for the people who have problems that are alcohol related. The idea of Alcoholics Anonymous is rooted on the disease model of alcoholism. This disease model of alcoholism views alcohol addiction as a disease that causes an alcohol addict to lose all power when he begins drinking any kinds of alcohol. This will involve that refraining from taking alcohol is the only method to control alcohol addiction. There are twelve steps that Alcoholics Anonymous have to go through in order for them to get better. The admitting that they are alcoholic and they are incapable in controlling alcohol effects is the primary step of these twelve steps. Getting aid from a higher creature, admitting to their weakness, and to ask for pardon are what Alcoholics Anonymous push their members to pursue. Complete abstinence will always be the goal for Alcoholics Anonymous members.
